Just popping in to say—I’m still here. I’m not quitting on my blog or anything else. Life’s just been a whirlwind lately, and it feels like time is speeding by faster than I can keep up.
After ringing in the New Year with a trip to Hong Kong, everything seemed to blur together. Somehow, we’re already in the third week of January.
This week felt like a wash. The one thing I managed to accomplish was finishing the video editing for the Vietnam Hat tournament from December 21–24. It was supposed to be straightforward, but oh no, technology had other plans.
The editing process was going smoothly until I hit a brick wall: exporting issues. No matter what I tried, the video kept getting stuck at 84%. I deleted and reinstalled Final Cut Pro (thinking maybe the beta version was buggy) and discovered a new AI slow-motion feature, which I thought was cool and gave it a shot. After editing half the video, I exported a test—success! But when the entire project was ready, the dreaded 84% freeze returned.
I was frustrated beyond belief. I started testing things, exporting smaller sections, deleting plug-ins, troubleshooting like crazy. Finally, I pinpointed the culprit: a built-in effect from Final Cut Pro itself. The one thing I hadn’t suspected. Once I removed it, the video exported smoothly. Lesson learned—sometimes, the simplest things are the source of the problem.
Besides that headache, there’s one more update I’d like to share:
I’ve started following a workout training program specifically designed for Ultimate Frisbee players. It’s called Game Point Performance, and I discovered it through Jimmy. It’s been a learning curve, especially the 20-minute warm-up routine. I haven’t memorized all the exercises yet, so I keep checking my phone between sets.
That’s all for now. My goal this year is to keep this blog more active—for myself and no one else. If someone reads it, great; if not, that’s fine too.
