Bangkok – Day 2

Chinese Resturant

So nobody said it was going to be this way, our first planned was to have lunch at the Michelin Stars. It’s already late when we arrived at the restaurant, we were hungry and our stomachs were grumbling for food. Not much different than any other Michelin restaurants, there’s always a long waiting line in order to get in. Not to mention, the last and first time I went to a Michelin Star was also in Bangkok at the Jay Fai restaurant, the longest time I ever had to wait for food, at least, it took me 5 hours until I got to enjoy the food. Unfortunately, the time wasn’t right for us for this one, we were too hungry to wait for a queue at the same time, my little boy couldn’t hold the pee-pee to the point that I almost made the hardest life decision whether to pee in the bottle or not; if we were still walking and couldn’t find any restaurant to settle down.

And yet, God works in a mysterious way, therefore, we somehow were fascinated by a small Chinese restaurant which I totally forgot the name. The restaurant is too small to maintain more than 10 customers, I would say. When we walked into the store, there were only two people having lunch. I felt I am now finally feeling alive once again after relieving myself that I had been holding since forever.

I had beef noodle and a big bottle of Chang beer. Honestly, I am not a big fan of beer, but somehow, when it comes to traveling to hot countries around Asia like our country or Thailand, beer seems to be something that I find enjoyable to drink and feel a bit cooled down before another walk.

Even though the restaurant is small, it is full of art on the wall showing the process of how each dish was made in an artistic way. While the two people who had come before us finished their food, now leaving only us left in the store, it felt like we booked the whole store. We talked and laughed out loud while a Chinese song was playing in the background, which most of the songs Jon knew and kept telling us that he listens to it.

Chao Phraya Cruise

Riding the tour cruise was a unique experience for me; I felt I am living my best life and I’m loving it every single second. After waiting in line for a while, the line was getting longer and split into three lines; people were waiting to get on the cruise.

I’m not sure if I can describe how I felt at that time; there was a mix feeling despite people being excited to get on the cruise, ready to grab whatever food that was there, seeing the beauty that this city has to offer especially during sunset. I started to ask myself a lot of questions, most of which I don’t have answers to.
